Eladrin
"Arcane, Graceful, and Eternal"
Starting Attributes
Physical Traits
The Eladrin are creatures of ethereal beauty, often appearing as though they have stepped out of a faded dream. They are tall and slender, with features that are sharp and angular. When they use magic, their eyes become solid pools of vibrant color—violet, emerald, or gold—that glow faintly with arcane resonance.
Their movements are fluid and silent, often unnerving to the younger races. While they lack the brute physical strength of Humans or Goliaths, their intellect is unmatched, and their connection to the planes allows them to manifest minor magical effects, such as a breeze in their hair or a chill in the air, simply by willing it.
Social Interactions
Eladrin society is governed by the Silver Courts, a complex hierarchy of houses dedicated to the study of high magic and ancient history. They value intellect, wit, and etiquette above all else. A duel among Eladrin is rarely fought with steel; it is fought with words, layered meanings, and subtle spells.
To outsiders, they can appear aloof or arrogant. They speak in riddles and rarely give a straight answer, believing that truth is a jewel that must be examined from many angles. However, once a bond of friendship is formed—a process that may take decades—it is unbreakable, forged in the deep magic of their souls.
World View
"The world is a song, and we are the only ones who remember the lyrics."
The Eladrin view themselves as the custodians of magic. They see the physical world as a crude reflection of the arcane currents that flow beneath it. While Humans rush to build and conquer, the Eladrin are content to watch, record, and subtly guide the flow of history.
They fear the corruption of magic above all else. To an Eladrin, the misuse of a spell is not just a crime; it is a wound inflicted upon reality itself. They wander the world seeking to repair these tears and recover lost artifacts from a different age.
